My name is Madison Peterson. I was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. I moved to Sanford with my husband after we both graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education in 2021. My husband is a P.E. teacher at another local elementary school.
My husband and I have a cat named Leia. She was named after Princess Leia from the Star Wars franchise. She is our pride and joy. However, not at three or four a.m.
I became the AIG specialist here at Greenwood in 2025. I am so excited to work with our gifted and talented students as they are some of the most unrecognized needs within the educational setting. I believe that all children deserve their needs to be met and differentiation is the start of that. I found my love for serving specific children after working with this population heavily in the general education setting.
